The Los Alamos Public Library offers a myriad of services to the public. From requesting material from other libraries (Interlibrary loan) to proctoring to technical support, these are just a few of the services available to library users.

Accessibility

Schedule a consultation: Make an appointment with a reference librarian to focus on your research needs. Just email, call, or drop in to make arrangements.

Computers and Internet Access

The library offers an open Wi-Fi for all users on the premises who have their own devices. To access click on the LAC-Public Library network and accept our terms of use. Your session will time out after approximately four hours, at which time you may reconnect.

Visitors can also use the library’s own computers on a first come, first served basis. Black and white and colorized printing is free from these stations, with a daily limit of 20 pages.

Online stations – When every station is in use you may add yourself to a waiting list. Sessions are 30 minutes in length and will be automatically extended in 10 minute increments unless there is someone on the waiting list.

Photocopying and Scanning

Both library locations have a full color photocopier and scanner. You may scan documents and save them to a USB drive. You can also print copies from a file on a USB drive. All copies are free but staff request that you keep your copying under 20 pages

 

Proctoring

Both library locations provide free test proctoring services in support of the community’s lifelong learning needs and interests. Please see our proctoring guidelines or contact us via email at refweb@lacnm.us or phone at 505-662-8253 for more information.

Request Technical Assistance

The library can provide in-person technical support to patrons needing assistance with setting up a new personal electronic device, performing common tasks on a computer or Wi-Fi enabled device, and using a library app or online database.
